What is Vaginal Rejuvenation with Desirial by Vivacy?

So, let’s talk about our vaginal rejuvenation procedure using with DESIRIAL®. We introduced this procedure based on its safety and the great results, and we are very pleased that this product has proven to be an excellent tool in the hands of our experienced clinicians. It is made of injectable hydrogel, which is specifically to restore hydration, elasticity, tonicity, and sensitivity to the vulvo-vaginal area and for hydration, plumping and remodelling of the outer area. This makes it an excellent treatment option for addressing  discomfort, burning sensations, increased sensitivity, chronic irritation or itching, and changes in the intimate area. 

What can Vivacy Desirial be used to treat?

We use  injections to address changes in the intimate area and to alleviate symptoms like  discomfort and painful sexual intercourse (), burning sensations, increased sensitivity, and chronic irritation or itching. These symptoms concern a number of women and may happen to any woman after childbirth, during menopause, or following hormonal or chemotherapy. Especially for women over 55, 1 in 2 will suffer from vaginal discomfort, which is affecting them in everyday life. In a recent study, 72% of women interviewed, complained also about a negative impact on their sexual life.

How does Desirial by Vivacy work?

By injecting DESIRIAL® hyaluronic acid directly into the affected area, we can alleviate and improve the overall quality of the vaginal mucous and tissues and also for hydration, plumping and remodelling and restoring the appearance of the female intimate area.

For vaginal rejuvenation injections, at Vie we use two products, depending on the nature of the concern and outcomes: DESIRIAL® and DESIRIAL Plus®. The products are different due to the texture of the gel, they are more or less fluid, and are used to treat varied symptoms for women concerned with this.

What is difference between treatment with Desirial and with Desirial PLUS?

DESIRIAL® is a fluid gel designed to restore hydration, elasticity, tonicity and sensitivity in the vulvo-vaginal area. Amazingly, it is also used to treat dryness. As the tissues in the vagina start to change, discomfort, or a burning may occur, as well as increased sensitivity, or chronic irritation and itching, which may cause sores. DESIRIAL® is great option for these concerns and our doctors inject the product directly into the tissues affected. This counteracts these symptoms, reducing dryness in the vaginal mucus and improving the quality of the tissue.

In comparison, DESIRIAL Plus® is more of an elastic gel which is capable of remodelling the outer lips, called labia majora, after experiencing volume loss, wrinkling, laxity and deflation. So, DESIRIAL Plus® injections are used to achieve improvement from an aesthetic point of view for the external area by adding volume and for remodelling. However, we achieve also an improvement for the inner lips (labia minora), which are better as a result of it. Volume loss, wrinkles and changes in the appearance in this area can occur due to a decrease in oestrogen levels, contributing to ageing in this area in the same way it may occur in the face. Please note that after childbirth and during the onset of menopause, women may notice this problem, too.

Why is Hyaluronic Acid used in Desirial?

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally found in the human body, in the skin and mucus membranes. It has the capacity to retain up to 1000 times its weight in water. When hyaluronic acid is injected, it directly enters into the vulvo-vaginal tissues and efficiently helps rehydrate the zone. The product injected then indirecty creates a mechanical pressure on the cells in the vaginal mucosa, which in turn, stimulates their . Through the stimulation of these cells, the synthesis of collagen and elastic fibres is boosted and therefore it helps improve the overall quality of the vulva-vaginal mucosa.

During menopause, there is a decrease of  secretion, which has an effect on fibroblasts. Simply put, fibroblasts are the building blocks of new skin cells and this leads to a progressive loss of elasticity and plumpness in the area of the labia majora. DESIRIAL^® is usually injected into the vulvar area and at the entry of the vagina. Your practitioner will use a needle when injecting to ensure that the product is administered superficially, just below the mucosal tissue to ensure rehydration of the area.

As for DESIRIAL^® PLUS, your practitioner will inject it under the dermis of the outer lips (Labia Majora). To avoid any injuries, a cannula is used to safely disperse the product evenly within the outer lips. The procedure usually lasts 20 minutes.
